World Cycling Centre: New partner invests in cycling’s future

Date: 6 December 2012

The World Cycling Centre (WCC) in Aigle, Switzerland, has signed a partnership agreement with one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of helmets, CASCO.

Under the agreement with the German company, which will run from 1st January 2013 until 31st December 2016, the WCC will receive 130 helmets a year for its trainees in the road, track and BMX disciplines.

UCI President Pat McQuaid welcomed the new partnership: “We recognize the confidence that this company has in the WCC’s young athletes, who represent the future of cycling. It is very positive for us to have the support of a major company such as CASCO.”

WCC Director Frédéric Magné added: “Our trainees are extremely talented and can only benefit from this type of top quality equipment to facilitate their training sessions and race preparation. CASCO has shown that it wishes to be part of their evolution on the international scene.”

Jeanette Krauter, head of sport sponsoring at CASCO, said that the new agreement was in line with the company’s tradition of sports sponsorship. She added, “We are convinced that we can support talented athletes and accompany them to the top with this WCC partnership. We are particularly proud to be able to help athletes from less favoured nations.”
