La Vuelta wears the pride with Santini. A five years sponsorship with the organization of the Spanish stage race.

Santini Maglificio Sportivo and Unipublic are pleased to announce their collaboration over the next five years, commencing in 2017, for the Vuelta’s 72nd edition. The Spanish tour’s new jerseys are getting a makeover thanks to the sponsorship of an internationally well-known cycling brand.

This agreement between Santini Maglificio Sportivo and Unipublic is yet another step towards innovation that places emphasis on the quality of the product showcased by the Vuelta organisation. The four leader jerseys: the Carrefour red jersey for the leader of the general classification, the polka dot King of the Mountain jersey, the Skoda green jersey for the leader of the points classification and the Fertiberia white jersey for the leader of the combined classification will be complemented by a complete line of products, merchandise as well as an exclusive collection of sports clothes that align perfectly with the Vuelta image. The prestige of the Santini brand, known as an international leader, the high quality of its products and its history, forever linked to cycling, are the key aspects that have led to this collaboration taking place.

The innovative and creative character of their proposals is in sync with our philosophy and with the image we wish to portray of the race. For this reason, we consider them to be the perfect ally to help us transmit all the values that characterise us, through our jerseys”, says Javier Guillén, General Manager of Unipublic.

A feeling shared by Santini Maglificio Sportivo’s CEO, Monica Santini: “We are delighted with the sponsorship of La Vuelta, one of the leading men’s road cycling races of the UCI World Tour. In more than 80 years of tradition, La Vuelta today is close to everyone’s hearts. We share the same values and passion. It will be an exciting event for everyone, not only for pros but for all cyclists who train with passion and challenge themselves. For us the partnership with La Vuelta is more than just a race, it represents our continuing contribution to global cycling. Working together not only as a sponsor but a partner with fresh ideas including new special event jerseys, to write together a new chapter of cycling history”.

The new jerseys consolidate the empowerment of the Vuelta brand and reinforce the identity of the Spanish race all over the world, as one of the most important events in the international sporting calendar. All the new leader jerseys and the line of clothes dedicated to La Vuelta, will be available for purchase on the Santini Maglificio Sportivo website (www.santinisms.it), on the Vuelta website (www.lavuelta.com) and in leading cycling stores around the world.

Santini Maglificio Sportivo was founded in 1965 by Pietro Santini who spotted a market for technical cycling clothing as a result of his abiding passion for the sport and competition. In what would seem like a revolutionary and contrarian choice today, the Bergamo-based company made the pivotal decision to design and manufacture all of its products exclusively in Italy. Each and every item of Santini apparel is designed and developed by a team of designers with a deep-rooted passion for the world of cycling and in line with the company’s “Made in Italy, Made with Passion” philosophy. Santini currently produces 3,000 items of clothing per day and exports 80% of its output. It is deeply committed to ongoing investment in researching and developing innovative textiles and new production methods. However, people – athletes – remain its central focus as it continues to refine its creations to allow cyclists pursue their sporting passions in comfortable but inimitably stylish kit (www.santinisms.it)
