Chloe Woodruff
Chloe joined the Race Club for the 2011 cyclocross season, and she came on pedaling hard. In her first year racing ‘cross, she earned a 4th place finish at her first USGP race. She even stood on the top step of the podium at a UCI race, the North Carolina Gran Prix. Not too shabby for her first year racing cyclocross.
Her heart, however, is truly with mountain bike racing. Not only was she a two time U23 XC National Champion, but she was also named to the 2012 Olympic Long Team and competed for a place on the London Olympic Team. Chloe has had an impressive 2012 season, which included breakthrough performances at the National Championships, where she finished 6th in the XC, and 5th in the STXC. Chloe carried that form through to the Montana Pro XC Tour for a 3rd place XC finish and win at the Ore to Shore 48 mile race in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
She’s a recent graduate of the University of Arizona and has made the transition to becoming a full-time pro athlete. With the additional focus her training will have, there will be no stopping her. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that she is one of the most charming racers on the pro circuit.
Judy Freeman
Judy joined the Race Club for the 2012 season. She’s a journalist’s, photographer’s, and a crowd favorite and gets stopped for photos or autographs at all her races. She’s great friends with all her competitors and a rider that interviewers always seek out for a post race comment. Her 2012 season got off to an incredible start. She was named as one of 9 riders on the Olympic Long Team and was vying for a spot to the London Games. At the first race of the season – the Mellow Johnny’s Classic, she finished in impressive 2nd. Judy had some bad luck and injuries in her World Cup campaign, which not only cost her a front tooth, but slowed down her fast track to The Games. But her season didnt end there. Once recovered, she rode to some impressive finishes such as 4th at the Montana Pro XCT event and winning the final stop on the Pro XC Tour, the Subaru Cup in Wisconsin. Judy is a true ambassador of the sport. She volunteers with her local high school mountain bike team and writes a regular column for VeloNews called “Life as a Bike Jockey” where she shares life on the road as a pro rider. Check it out and it will be easy to see why she is an important part of the Race Club and the world of cycling.
