Blast from the past – Fondriest SF2

While many of us are watching the 2012 Tour de France, the latest and greatest bikes are being ridden using advanced technology with electronic shifting, carbon frames, carbon wheels, etc. Bikecafe got the opportunity to ride the Fondriest SF2. The Fondriest SF2 is a steel lugged frame with Columbus Spirit tubing, handmade in Italy.

Getting out on the bike reminded me of the early days of riding when I first started getting into road bikes in 1984 with my Peugeot PG10. It was a joy to get on the Fondriest SF2 and the comfort of the steel frame and the newest technology of Campagnolo Athena 11 speed.

Fondriest puts in the effort to provide the details in the chrome lugs, rear stays and down tubes.  (see pictures below) .

The bike is a beauty the lives up the joys of riding steel. Also, giving memories of days gone by when everyone was riding steel.
